This is pretty serious

The Waldo Canyon Fire just blew up yesterday. I was at work up north and saw the smoke start billowing.

At 4:40 when I started driving home I saw through the smoke that the whole face of the mountains above colorado springs was on fire. The only word I could use to describe it was apocalyptic. Becca was working at the County doing work for the primary elections. They kept her way too long, but eventually they were allowed to leave, and then there was a mandatory evacuation for their building’s area anyway. She arrived home and we sat and listened to the scanner and read all the updates. It was intense. We were totally absorbed in the news. Luckily there was no evacuation orders for our area of town. We are ready to load all our personal belongings anyway, but we are waiting for a pre-evacuation order to even load things up. It’s scary to see the evacuation areas slowly grow closer and closer to us.
